We maintain extensive equine facilities within short walking distance of the dorms on-campus. The Equestrian Center serves as our training facility where our equine studies students take riding skills classes, practical management courses, and equine training classes. Our competitive intercollegiate teams also practice at the Equestrian Center during the week and on weekends. The facility is equipped with the following amenities:

Our Sydney J. Markovitz Standardbred Center is home to competitive Standardbred racehorses. The college stands stallions and a broodmare herd. The horses and foals are handled daily by students and staff. Equine studies students have the opportunity to play an integral role in the daily management of the facility, as well as a chance to actively assist with foaling and breeding procedures. Our on-campus breeding facility is equipped with the following amenities:

  • On-site reproduction laboratory with state of the art reproductive diagnostic equipment
  • Foal monitor alert system that can be accessed on and off campus
