As a student in our dairy science program you’ll immerse yourself in technology and hands-on learning from industry professionals with years of field experience.
Our curriculum includes everything from basic sciences, economics, and general education, as well as courses in professional dairy science. This, combined with the practical experience of our employment program, will prepare you to enter a wide variety of occupations directly and indirectly related to the dairy industry.
As a dairy science major, your course and laboratory work will provide opportunities to study the care, feeding, breeding, and general management of dairy animals. Plus, participation in clubs like the Dairy Society and events like A-Day gives you the chance to extend yourself beyond classroom learning. The result? You'll be ready to take the dairy industry head-on after graduation.
Program graduates often work in sales and service, production, teaching, veterinary medicine, research and agribusiness. You will be a prime candidate for employment in the drug and feed industries, state and federal civil services, dairy animal artificial insemination, state extension services, dairy plant and farm inspection, cooperatives, and more.
