Agriculture is one of the largest sectors of the national economy and the crop science major prepares you with science-based technical courses in agricultural production.

As a crop science student you’ll participate in ongoing faculty research while taking advantage of our 500-acre living laboratory of agricultural land and demonstration plots.

This combination of hands-on learning and in-depth coursework will prepare you for a wide variety of career opportunities in both the public and private sectors. Our graduates currently serve in a wide variety of fields including consultants and field representatives for fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide, seed and equipment companies.
