Each year, Delaware Valley College delivers 14 to 20 Standardbred foals. Students in the Mare and Foal Management course as well as the Neonate Management course are responsible for the success of those deliveries.

Students are responsible for routine care and handling of the mare and her newborn foal during the spring semester of their junior or senior year. Newborn foals are immediately halter broken and taught to lead with manners.

To view live foalings at the Standardbred Center, take a peek at one of our foaling stall webcams. If you see a number four on a stall card that mare could be within hours of foaling!
