DelVal offers a general master's of art degree in counseling psychology with two concentrations. In an effort to meet community needs and train mental health professionals to effectively treat the full spectrum of adjustment and psychological concerns, students could choose to specialize in one of two sub-tracks: child and adolescent therapy or social justice community counseling.

Child and Adolescent Therapy
The focus is on human development, assessment & intervention. Practitioners work with children and families across the lifespan.

Social Justice Community Counseling
The focus is on facilitating systemic change via social justice initiatives, client advocacy, emphasis on traditionally marginalized groups, working with cultural and sexual diversity, and competent multicultural counseling when working with adults and families.

Students in the master's program also will select to either follow a curriculum designed for apply licensure as a licensed professional counselor  (60 credits) or a curriculum designed for National Certified Counselor status (48 credits). All students will complete 48 credits of coursework in counseling psychology including 12 credits (four classes) in their chosen track.
