Prior to joining the faculty at Delaware Valley University as chair of the Agribusiness Department in 1996, Dr. Slane was vice president of a tobacco trade association (1987-1996) and a research economist for the New Jersey Department of Labor (1985-86). From 1981-85, he was an assistant professor of agricultural economics and marketing at Cook College, teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
As author or co-author of numerous research and trade articles, he has taught all of the agribusiness courses within the department. He is a member of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association, the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association and the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture. He is also a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) and is faculty advisor to the college's Student Chapter NAMA Marketing Team/Club.
