Biography

Melissa Langston joined the Delaware Valley College faculty in 2010 from Kutztown University, and teaches general chemistry and analytical chemistry lectures and laboratories. She also mentors students enrolled in the student research course. In each of her courses, Dr. Langston works to make chemistry tangible to her students by showing them how chemistry affects their everyday lives.

Dr. Langston’s research interests focuses on macroion and polyoxometalate solutions, the extraction and isolation of natural sources of food dyes and colorants, and the effect of pharmaceuticals and their degradants on the environment. Dr. Langston has presented her research at meetings of the American Chemical Society and internationally
