Elizabeth Carpenter

Elizabeth Carpenter joined Delaware Valley University’s Department of English in 2016. Before coming to DelVal, she served as a tenured, associate professor of English at Delaware County Community College. During her ten years at DCCC, Carpenter focused her teaching efforts on basic writing and first-year composition courses. Her research interests include strategies for student success and student motivation in basic writing and first-year writing courses.  After joining DelVal in 2016, Carpenter has continued her interest in and commitment to teaching basic writing and first-year writing courses. In addition to coordinating the yearly Student Writing Conference, Carpenter serves as director of the Writing Center.
