Biography

Ron Johnson started at his career at Delaware Valley College in 1973 and currently serves as chair of the biology department. He has taught in the Freshmen Program (BioSci 1 and 2, both lab and lecture) and still teaches both natural science courses as well as the Principles of Ecology Course and Environmental Impacts. He also developed the limnology course in the late 1970s, which he has been teaching since. 

Dr. Johnson did research with Mr. Hepner on several grants involving land application of septage focusing on the dynamics of E. coli. His previous research projects included being a field technician for a pesticide study involving the gypsy moth, working with the Bucks County Department of health mapping mosquito populations, and taking part in an Audobon Society acid rain project in the early 80s.

On the personal side, Johnson enjoys golf, fishing, and hunting. He has lived in the area since 1973 with his wife, and has three children, one of whom is a DelVal graduate.
